Diamond willow, with carved figures of a bird, fish, and clasping hand holding highly stylized face. Relief carved with Mike, Orion, Warren, Lawrence, patriotic stars and a shield incised and carved, decorated with silver and polychrome paint. Michael "Mike" Cribbins was born in Ireland but immigrated to Boston at the age of 13. By 1860 he was living with his family in Kenockee, Michigan, the town most closely associated with him today, thanks to his inclusion of the place name on many of his carved canes, axes and other wooden objects. 34-1/2" L Provenance: Property from the Estate of Marjorie and Robert L.
