Both are inscribed. The second cane is a handled cane. 36"l. One engraved "New Haven Aero(?) to B. J. Monaghan." B.J. Monaghan was a Philadelphia businessman. The 1909 Chicago Daily News Almanac and Yearbook lists him as a Past Grand Worthy President of The Fraternal Order of Eagles.(1908) Samuel Stevenson was a British long-distance runner. He competed in the men's 5 miles at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. He was Scottish Champion at 4 miles(1905-6), 10 miles(1905) and Cross Country(1906). He won at 4 miles for Scotland vs. Ireland in 1906.
